I Love To Fly! “Fly Away Home” inspired me to start looking at ultralight aircraft, especially trikes. The father character’s desire for a simple, easy-to-fly, safe aircraft for his daughter resulted in a trike. In September 2005, I took my first trike ride with my Instructor and now good friend, Mike Theeke of Flyhard Trikes. What a thrill!…I was hooked for life. Several training hours later I soloed in my very own J&J Tukan Special. But there was…

Here’s the dilemma….you have always wanted to learn to fly, but you never had the time or been financially able to take the training. Now that you are retired, you have the time but don’t think you have the money…UNTIL, you find out about ultralights! Certification to fly an ultralight can be obtained for less than $1000. Let’s see….I can sell one of my two boats for $1000 or my old four-wheeler that I never ride anyway or what about that motorcycle that sits idle in the gar…

I'd love to! But I have to tell you, It has been really hot this last week in southern Norway, into the 90's actually! Not a cloud and no winds.
But guess what? I am stuck at work on an oilrig in the northsea, not going home until monday. I left home at the first sunny day, and the forcast for monday is heavy rain and low 60's.
I've been really frustrated, hehe....
I hope to have some good days of flying anyway, I'll be off work for three weeks.
I'll try to blo som cool air over to you:-)
I had to take the pics down to keep the brits from coming over here and spanking me for letting the cat out of the bag too early. It's a cool wing though I promise.
Here's your Site
Thats SNAFU. We get mail all the time here, (USPS snail mail) addressed to an Arkansas address. AK AL and AR. RIGHT?
Were did you meet Ed Whitmore? He is a student of mine here in Alaska
You must want to fly every day with it being so eazy to peddle to the metal. I live next door to the RAAF who kindly let me fly at the weekends.(from my friends farm), trouble is i get buggered setting up all the time. I'll just have to sell up and move to the Outback! Cheers Mark
I'm going to pick your brain about Tukans. After going to SnF, I have descided that I tired of evaluateing and need to get to flying.
I have found what I consider a good trainer ( Two seat Tuckan 2002 w/582 c box 16 meter LaMouette double surface wing).
I went up with the owner last week and flew for about an hour. While we were up, he allowed me to fly from the back seat and I was very impressed with the performance during a midmorning flight. It seemed very stable with a 6-8 mph wind.
Very fair price n# w/ annual in Dec 08.
I know that have that you have upgraded to the Areos w/ Geo, but what do you think of the Tukan for what I'm considering? I may be happy with that and might repower with GEO( which i really like) at the time the 582 TBO.
I knew that you and Jackye would be good sources of input.
So Jackye if you read this feel free to chime in also.
Thanks,
Jesse
Thanks !
Niclas
